Ethnobotany & Cosmology is dedicated to understanding the role plants, animals, stars, the universe and storytelling have played throughout history. What sacred medicine, wisdom, and rituals have been lost through a dominance of masculine values and how we can use the healing power of the divine feminine to revise our past and renew our future.
Ethnobotany: Each month I will include a local (Southern California) plant to share more about it’s spiritual, medicinal, cultural, and biological value in the ancient world and today. Included will be videos, drawings (journals), photographs, and also nutritional, biological, and medicinal value of plants
Mamoon– Inspired by the need for alternative to modern-day medical cures, each month I will include a recipe and local healings of the selected plant and more
Stories, Songs, and Rituals: Stories and songs had preserved thousands of years of wisdom and knowledge. Creation stories offer incredible alternatives to traditional black-and-white understandings of the world and one another. Songs were often a way ancient cultures passed on important information about health, healing, and how to live one’s life.
The dominant culture had prioritized ethnocentric versions of history and spirituality.
**This section was inspired by motherhood and the need to heal for our children and offer them alternatives to the status quo and mainstream holidays. He revitalized my curiosity about nature, animals, and the cosmos through drawing, researching, hiking, and playing. After two years of collecting information about local plants, ancient communities, rituals, and folklore my goal is to share the knowledge with others in hopes it can help with their healing, parenting, protecting, and playing in the magic of the ideas and beings that honor the magic of Mother Earth and the Great Spirit.
